Perspectives, an exhibition of small works — paintings, drawings, ceramics, and sculpture — by thirty-four Midwest artists, begins Monday, August 25, at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City.
Visitors to the exhibition will be treated to the talented and diverse “perspectives” of artists Joe Brogrhammer, Kate Brooke, Roger Bruhn, Judith Burton, Larry Ferguson, Robert Hillstad, Bill Shaffer, Bryce Speed and many others. Perspectives is selection of compelling contemporary works ranging from the abstract to realistic representation from the inventory of Modern Arts Midwest (MAM).
The public is invited to The Kimmel Harding Nelson gallery to meet Larry and Judy Roots and artists with works in the Perspectives exhibition at a reception on Thursday evening, September 11, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.Perspectives will remain on exhibit through Thursday, October 16, 2008.

5th Annual Toys for Tots Drive and All-You-Can-Eat Chili Feed (with Hot Dogs!)
on Saturday, December 6th at Harrison Street Baptist Church (8015 Harrison St).
Dinner will be served from 12:00 to 6:00
pm, and Santa will be there
to help celebrate from 12:30 to 5:30 pm!
As part of our Cub Promise, Scout Oath, and the commitment to help other
people, we will also be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys for the Toys
for Tots campaign. We want to stuff the Suburban that Santa uses when he is in
the Omaha area, with toys for the Toys for Tots Drive. Any donation to this campaign would be greatly
appreciated.
The cost for dinner is $5
per person, Children (grades K-3) are $3, and Preschoolers/Toddlers are Free. Dinner
includes Chili (all-you-can-eat!), hot dogs, crackers, chips condiments,
dessert, coffee, tea and water. Soda pop will also be available for purchase.
The Chili Feed is a fundraising event for the boys of Cub Scout Pack 470 and
Boy Scout Troop 470 to help offset the cost of Scouting activities and
community service projects.
